Ok some people tell me that the cyclone engine has different intake manifold......others say its the way the air is sent into the combustion chamber....so i was just wadering if anybody knows.......the only thing that im sure is that it kicks out 220 hp and about 228 tourque thats what i got when i took mine to the dyno......

It has a different intake manifold with dual runners to increase low-end power.

Later,

They came factory w/ a 16g and 550cc injectors as well. However, from what it seems, most of the motors in the US are coming w/ 14b's and 440s.

hey honda killer did u get spanked up by a 2g gsx a month or 2 ago. I laid some serious smack down on a pretty nice 1g in carlton. I could tell it had some mods but i was suprised i kick his ass so bad. Theres also some #@%#@%#@% who thinks his turbo civic is hardcore, i also laid some dsm smack on him, i see that guy every now an then,

From what i have read/heard, the cyclone intake is actually a down grade from the US Spec Intake Mani. the US spec Intake flows much better.
Also, it is very rare to find a Cyclone with the 16G and 550's.

There was Cyclone intake manifold for sale on ebay about a month ago. It went for really cheap too... At the time (and still) I wasn't sure if that's really the salt of the engine.

Is it?

Here is a CFM chart comparing the cyclone, stock, and a couple honed models: http://207.154.83.106:88/archives/m/2000/09/20000922.txt/30.html

The cyclone is pretty comparable to even the honed one.
Does anyone know what is required to run one? I have one that I got w/ my cyclone motor, but am wondering how exactly you can make it work on the USDM platform.

oh damn, silver tsi, your ride is bad@ss!!!!
i got a question, lets say i get me a cyclone intake onto a virtually stock motor, will i see any increase in power? or would i need to get some other mods? also, where can i get just the manifold, and will it bolt up and have no problems with installation?
