Tial WG mounted on O2 housing

Tial WG (dump to atm) mounted on O2 housing. My question is, does it matter where the WG is in proximity to the turbo? For example, the extrememotorsports set up has it where the WG is very close to the turbo. However, when I had someone custom do my O2/WG setup, they used their O2 housing w/dump tube, and mounted my Tial 40mm WG at the very end of the dump tube (about 8in away from the turbo). Does this have any effect?

ie; my Tial 40mm WG is mounted at the very end of this O2 housing dump tube. Would this affect anything since it is somewhat far from the turbo as opposed to being "closer" to the turbo?

No, it will still work the same no matter where it is placed at.

What he said. My wastegate is actually upside down and the dumptube is out of harms way so as not to melt anything Mine is from AHP.

Now may be I'm not picturing this correctly, but it was my understanding that WG should be in between the engine and the turbo (like on the exhaust manifold) to relieve the pressure. What good does if do to have it at the O2 housing, when exhaust has already come through the turbine ?

Im getting the same impression. I dont think it would work mounted there...the exhaust gases would have already flown through the turbocharger exhaust housing so how would you be able to let the gases bypass the turbo?

You guys need to take a long look at a turbine housing off the car. The top hole of the 02 housing is plumbed into the turbine housing above and before the turbine wheel.

Here is another way of mounting an external. This is an 02 housing I built when running the L3R. Here it is on the car. See how far down the wastegate is, but yet it is plumbed up into the 02 housing above the turbine wheel outlet.
