you can reuse them if you want. 6 bolts were not tty bolts. why don't you search this question was addressed all of 2 days ago. also call some machine shops, how are we supposed to know what the turn around is for your local machine shops.

-Yes, you can reuse the head bolts on a 91's.
-Call some machine shop, the last valve job for my head was $280, resurface head, all new valves(bended), new guides, seals + head job gasket set.
-I just finish putting the motor together this afternoon after 4 months on the jack stands, but the motor is idling very rough, leaking 5-15% of pressure throught out all 4 cylinder, head gasket might be blown already, drain oil but too dark to tell if water is in it, will open the motor again tomorrow again to see what's up.

no need to bash i did search but i had some other questions about doing the job an just wanted to know for sure. the machine shop thing i was just wondering what your experience with it was. my dad said the last time he had a head resurfaced it was like 20 dollars, but that it was also like 20 years ago so i was just wondering what the price would be around. that sucks on your rebuild there, i'm pissed just cause we have to do the head gasket again, o well thanks for the info on the bolts,
Ryan

-Well, redo the head gasket today, let the motor idle for ~ 20 minutes, remove the spark plugs to do another leak down test, notice all 4 pistons are coated with oil, spark plugs look and smell normal, leak down test @40 psi is ok on all cylinder, but compression test yielded #1@180, #2@120, #3@125, #4@180, This short block was rebuild last year with 2G's 8.5:1+50 pistons, will do another leak down test tomorrow with higher pressure to see what will happen, any suggestion is welcome.

You said that your car was setting for 4 months, correct? There is a possibility that the rings were set in the pistons, I bought a 4g63t from a local salvage yard and when I put it in the car it smoked a little, ran rough, and had un-even compression. Well after about a week of driving, the smoking went away. And the last time I checked, the compression was pretty even on all four.
I'd say run it for a few 100 miles, then check it.

yea definatly run it for awhile, when i started driving my car again after like 5 months it smoked and the tranny shifted like crap now most the problems have fixed themselves. i'd say run it for 100 or so thats the right idea, later

I work part time in a machine shop in NY. We charge $35. to resurface a head, more if the valves have to be taken out for resurfacing. I'm pretty sure the intake valves have to come out to resurface our 2.0 turbo heads.

hey thanks for the info. 35 is pretty decent, i guess now we're not 100% sure on the head gasket thing, we took a "sniffer" they called it and put it in the antifreeze when the car was running it's supposed to turn it yellow if exhaust gases are getting in the antifreeze it stayed blue, and they say it's usually right so now i'm looking at a water pump maybe? o well thanks alot

-Ran the motor on jack stands varying between 3-5k rpm for about 30 minutes of so, recheck compression and get 160, 135, 140, 165 vs before at 180, 120, 125, 180. but still seeing oil on top of all the pistons.
