Question for Tial 40mm WG owners

A quick question for Tial 40mm WG owners. Are you using both nipples(at the top of the WG and the middle of the WG)? I just installed a Profec B Spec II and just used the middle nipple on the WG for the hose. The nipple at the top of the WG is unused and uncapped. I'm currently having trouble with the newly installed profec and was wondering if this has anything to do with it.
