on the front water pipe theres a feed for the factory turbo...well since ive upgraded to a garrett oil only turbo i need to block it off...i got the right size bolt (16mmx1.5) to plug it and put a fiber washer and a metal washer on the bolt and the damn thing is still leaking...does anyone know a good way to seal this off? let me know asap. thanx

btw this is with an agp turbo kit..it didnt come with a block off fitting or anything so im assuming its a do it on your own job..

Get a brass plug for it and use teflon tape.

thanx for the info...looks like ill be taking out the turbo/manifold for the 3rd time LOL...i really need to stop trying to rush things....

how hard is it to take the water pipe out? that would make it alot easier to get a clean seal on it to make sure its done right this time...thanx

Cut the factory water feed line off at the end of the threaded fitting that screws into the water pipe. Have the fitting welded on the back side, and screw the fitting back into the water pipe. You should be good to go after that.

well fixed it i hope...what i ended up doing was pulling out the water pipe(along with my turbo and manifold, again:mad: ) ...then i took the 16mm bolt i was using to plug it, cut about 3 threads worth of bolt off, cut a slit on the top of the section for a flat head screw driver (with dremel) then threaded it all the way down into the hole with the screw driver and filled all the rest of the hole with jbweld...if this doesnt fix it then i dont know what will

i should have just bought the n/a pipe in the first place, but at this point im determined to seal it off

I used a 3/8 NPT pipe plug (steel not brass) and some teflon tape. Tested the system with water before i installed the turbo, and it didnt leak. I still dont have it all done so i dont know if it will leak after i get the car running, but I just used what kevin or ben from AGP told me. They are great guys, and answer email promptly, so ask them your questions since you bought from them and they will be more than happy to help.

PS the plug would only thread in about 3 threads but I believe that is ok, because plugs expand in diameter as you go up the shaft, thats how they plug things.

yeah i was gonna try and call agp but there site is messed up now and i couldnt get to there contact info for their phone number...i was gonna go out and get a plug with pipe threading but the way i ended up doing it should definitely work so alls well that ends well

We just looped it back with some coolant hose was much easier.. (tried to post this pic 4 times now and didn't work so if this shows up 3 other times, my apologies.)

The 2g and 1g have different cooling lines, its much easier to loop the lines on a 2g. I dont really think its feasable on the 1g to loop the lines.
