What do you guys consider is the best turbo timer out there??
Where do you get it for cheap :)

Thanks

i wouldn't consider its the best turbo timer, becuz to me... a turbo timer IS a turbo timer.

I got the Greddy and check out ebay. Sometimes you can get them for like $30 if you are lucky.. They don't cost much, usually ranges from $75+ brand new.

the bes turbo timer? the cheapest.. its not going to give you any power.. no matter how much you spend on one..
yes some might have a lil more features thant he others.. but do you realy need those wen ur main purpose is gettin a turbo timer? LOL

search on the trader and u can prob find a greddy old style tt for 30-50 bucks.

i'd say the Apex AutoTimer. Works great. Shows theoretical A/F ratio, True font O2 voltages, Battery voltage, and times up to 10 minutes. All this can be had for $100 brand spankin new (with wiring harness) if you know the right places to look.

I have a 90 GST with a JDM motor, and I really need to get a turbo timer. I've been looking at the HKS or APEX timer. Any suggestions, inputs are welcome. Thanks.
Brian

any TT with auto is fine. its not a performance part and it doesnt really do anything but let your car idle. hks, apexi, greddy are all good. pick what one would mount the nicest in your car instead.

I have the Blitz DCII DTT with boost gauge, and I love it. The display is separated from the brain, so it is very easy to mount wherever needed!!!

i have the apexi but was thinking of switching to the blitz DTT because it would mean i less gauge. but i don't think it reads vac. is vac reading important?

i have the apexi and love it, switched from a greddy. i have it mounted right believe my air vents right above my a/c controls, i also hooked up the o2 meter, i know it's no wideband but it sure beats the autometer light show.

Hey thanks everyone. In that case, I'll look around and just find one with a good price tag.

-Just Keep Spoolin'-

You have a water-cooled turbo. If you drive it anything like someone who knows what a turbocharger is, and give it a mile or two to relax before parking, the spool will never get hot enough to need a turbo timer. The water in the spool will thermosiphon with the engine turned off and circulate on its own, and it won't let the oil in the bearing get hot enough to coke.

Now, brace for the waves.

Yep water cooled turbos dont need turbo timers. People get them anyway, maybe for peace of mind? If you want the TT anyway, I like the HKS Type 1, its like $115 on ebay (make sure you get a harness its so much easier to install), and it counts lap times and other shit. Good luck!
