I may be flamed for this asking this but has anyone seen a Evo 7 motor swap into an eclipse, talon, or GVR4? If not would you think that it would be a difficult swap?

I'll see what the guys at Mitsubishi say. The service guys are pretty helpful, they should be able to say one way or the other.
Should be fun to drive, I think they want me to trade in the Eclipse, but I am not sure about the looks. The EVO VI looked more aggressive.

The newer evos, even the V I think have a unique look to them. I think it looks less sporty than the 2 G eclipse.

The look comes from the rules related to the World Rally Championship. They have to build a certain number of road going cars that to a certain degree resemble the rally car. Basically, without the rallying there would be no Evo. In Europe they are limited to the Lancer because of the 2 litre engine. They pick a car in the range that has the right sized engine and then go to town. An Eclipse with all the goodies from the Evo would be one hell of a car. When my Eclipse was first serviced in the UK, they were fighting over who go to work on it. and they said the same thing, why not put the equipment from the EVO in an Eclipse body.
With the Evo VII they are trying to appeal to a broarder spectrum of people, thus making it less aggressive looking and a little easier to drive with all the electronics. After the demise of the Skyline in Europe, If you want a Jap turbo it is either a WRX or Evo VII.
RIP Skyline, 300ZX, RX-7, Turbo DSM's, Ford Escort Cosworth, Supra.. the list goes on.
. Its quite obvious that the drivers are quite less skilled when you see the in car views from the Evo's.
Hehe . I'm surprised to see how common Ford Focus' are in the rally racing world.Originally posted by UndergroundR32
I have a great respect for rally cars, rally car drivers, and rally racing in general. I believe and am sure it's plain to see that Rally Racing requires and allows much more skill improvement than does Drag Racing. The cars take a great amount more abuse on suspension and engine and performance parts alike. I have DirecTV which has the speed channel, and watch rally racing a number of nights a week. They have great in car views from a number of rally cars. The unfortunate thing about it is that in the races that they cover you will see very little of the Lancer Evo's do to the fact that they are usually not towards the front of the pack. Its quite obvious that the drivers are quite less skilled when you see the in car views from the Evo's.

I was thinking about this a little while ago and looked at pictures of the EVO and if you look at the pics of the engine bay you will see that the motor is mounted in the opposite direction as the 4g63 in the Eclipse. I imagine that if you really wanted you could make it fit but it would be alot more work than just a simple bolt in and cpu upgrade.Originally posted by UndergroundR32
276 HP out of a 4g63 with a 16G stock. The Evolution does come with a 16G correct?
