I added a intake, downpipe, and catback and my psi is still 14psi then falls too 12 psi at redline. I do not have a boost controller.

I've read a lot about DSMers having to adjust there MBC after mods. Just wondering why I'm still stock 14 psi with no boost controller and wondering how a MBC differs from how the stock BC works...? Thanks for any info.

The fact that we have absolutly no idea what car your driving doesn't help, update your profile before you ask for help on something but don't tell us what you need help with.

It sounds like you have a 2G with a T-25 turbo. It's so small that it's going to drop to 12psi at redline because it just can't make the boost hold until redline. Not that you didn't hook anything up properly just that it's sooo small, there is nothing you can do.

How come my boost doesn't spike to 18 or higher psi? I'm sure the t25 can handle that at low rpms. It spikes to 15psi only. I'm wondering why I don't creep and others do.

you don't spike because you still have the T-25... like, "nine5raptor " said and also because you still have the stock BOV, which it won't let you go over 14psi, regardless if you have a boost controller or not.

Without upgrading the stock BOV, don't even waste your money on a boost controller, the stock BOV just leaks all the boost over 14psi.

Your car isn't modded enough. From your profile it says that you have only an intake and catback. You won't creep because you don't have a downpipe and that's still a major restriction in your exhaust. The other major restriction is your UICP.

The reason why it's only spiking to 15 psi is because the stock 2g bov is a piece of shit. It leaks around 12 psi. If you do a pressure test on it, it should leak at 12 psi if it's working good. Mine was leaking at 5psi when I took it off.

Get a bov and uicp and you'll be spiking to 16. Put on a downpipe and the thing will creep like you wouldn't believe. Why you want it to creep is what I'm trying to figure out

o man...mine isnt boost isnt creeping..i guess im missing out, o wait last time i checked that was a good thing...;) hehe im jp with ya man

get some supporting upgrades and boost controller after that..(1g bov is good) and ull be set :thumb: good luck man

Damn it my profile got all messed up. So did my sig.

Anyways,

MODS:
1999 GST
apexi intake
rsr downpipe
rsr catback
egt runner #1
boost gauge 30vac, 20psi

My next mod was going to be a bushur racing uip and 1G BOV, but I don't want to creep or boost past 14-15 psi with stock fuel and t-25.

Why do I hear some people running 20psi in a t25?

Also right now I can pull hard all the way thru 1st with very little wheel spin since that downpipe lets me spool so much quicker, it's just easier to control. Before I'd have no go then bam wheel spin.

I'm worried that the uip and BOV will:
(a) creep
(b) spike really high or put me over 14 psi
(c) loose traction in 1st
(d) be a waste of money
(e) cause other drive ability problems over the stock pipe and bov

Also the other part of my question was, does a mbc work just like the stock control for boost? Is the stock bc non adjustable and just set at the factory for 14 psi or something?

Hows it going guys. I just had a few questions that i thought you might be able to help me out with. I recently bought a 1996 Talon TSI AWD. This makes three so far. THe car came with a few mods
255 Walbro Fuel Pump
T-28 Turbo
Front mount intercooler
Hallman MBC Cockpit control
Boost gauge
Custom IC piping
1g BOV
2 1/2 inch downpipe, midpipe, catback, No cat
2 inch drop eibach springs
Short shifter
Adjustable Barametric Sensor...weird thing...
New Transmission rebuild...all new syncros

I read where you guys got some boost creep. My car goes past 16 and then comes back down to what i set the boost at 12. WHen i had the car the car was boosting past 25 psi. The guy cut the lines to the stock BC. I have the boost set so low because i don't know how much a stock engine can take. Whats the stock boost pressure on a 2g? How much can i take it up to (Safely). I was reading somewhere that the o2 eliminator will get rid of the boost creep problem. Factual or Myth?

THanks
