intercooler pipe

I am constructing my pipe for my front mount and wanted to know if anyone has joined their pipe with silicone hose and clamps or welded the pipe and used the hose only on necessary joints?

I welded mine as much as posible. Only use silicone for the absulute corners and the upper ones to take than out. I use 2.5" mandrel bend pipes from JC- whitney

I'd weld as much as you can, it's obviously stronger and a much better seal.
