My car had broken timing belt when I bought it, and we all know what that means. Well i had all new SS valves, valve guides, and seals put in. It also got a 3 angle valve job. Well here is my question. I got the head back and I'm not sure if this normal or not. The ports will not hold water wich means the valves aren't seated properly right? Don't get the wrong idea though by all means they do not just leak water every where. If you fill up the port and wait about 30-45 sec. a drop will start to build up at the bottom of the valve ( the head is on it's side). Is this a problem? I was told it should be fine by one person but someone else said it's definitly bad. Any input would be great. I'll be putting the head on the motor this week and I'm really worried about this. I don't want to have to take the head off again after the new engine is the car.

It should be fine...

have in mind that if you put water and wait for 30-45 sec, it will leake because there is no sealant between the valve and the valve seat, but it still holds the water.
When the head it's working it don't take but a fraction of a second to open/close, let the gas/air in, and let the exhaust gases out, I know we are talking of alot of compression here but it should be fine, if you had the valve job done at a machine shop, they know what they're doing so you shouldn't worry...

Good luck Hope everything works fine man...!

It's also my understanding that once everything heats up and expands and what not that there isn't a perfect seal between the valve and the seat anyway. As long as there isn't an obvious obstruction causing the valve not to seat it should be fine. Is this correct?
