Okay, I keep hearing about some new stuff coming out in a couple of months. Come on, spill.
 
Garrett has a new line of GT technology turbos that they are slowly phasing into production. We all need to get use to the fact that 'GT' doesn't mean ball bearing. All these new turbos are conventional bushing GT's. 'GT' just being the new wheel and housing designs, like we have T04E's, T04B's and TB03's, now these are 'GT'. These are all new from the ground up, with no parts in common with the current T3/T4 type turbos. The compressor housings, bearing housings, and turbine housings are all new and quite different than current offerings. We've got our hands on some of the first ones in the size range that would be useful to DSM'ers. All the new GT turbos that we have in stock and have seen, all have threaded compressor wheels. That meaning the compressor wheel isn't a slip fit over the shaft and held on by a separate nut. But rather that the compressor wheel itself is threaded and gets threaded directly to the shaft. This alleviates the potential problem of the compressor wheel slipping and becoming out of balance with the rest of the rotating assembly. This has been known to be a problem when running higher pressure ratios. BTW most of the GT compressors operate at greater efficiency in higher pressure ratios than most previous wheels.

I have read in Turbo mag. that they are going to introduce their new line of turbine wheels that are about 10% more efficient than their GT turbine wheels now. Is this right and any idea of when all this new stuff will be available?
 
I assume this whole new setup will not be compatable with the current T3 manifolds out there right?
