more air to turbo

if you can see my image check out the ramair mod, i poped out the headlamp and rigged up a snorkel system for more direct air to the turbo. it seemed to spool faster at the track when i ran it, but didnt help that the clutch was slipping really really badly.

any other ideas to get more air to the turbo?? cause driving it on the street with this snorkel wont work, no headlamp .

just what i was thinking... hmm where did you get that hood?

I myself was wondering if you could find a small enough headlight for the passenger one so you would have the room to use the extra head room to duct it to the turbo.. this way when the pop up is down you wouln't know it at all and could (if u did the lock down mod) use the lights this way then pop them up and wala ram air... kinda like the Road Runners were except it had a pop up like pice that was in the center of the hood.. but anyway just a thought something like that maybe?

I sell the hoods they are pin on, fully functional ram air hoods. for the 90-91 model dsms. $398 + roughly $100 truck freight, they are to large for ups or fed ex. jst trying to mold a design where all the air that comes in the front of the hood is directed toards the filter. curently the air just flows right threw and out the back of the hood. which isnt to bad it helps keep the motor cool. but im thinking maybe if i can direct the air towards the filter. that would be sweeter for the turbo. ill be sure to post pics if i can design somthin.

Looks interesting, but you're not "ramming" air below about 130mph. It's getting cool air to the intake (and that's good) but it's not ramming any.

sweet that would be perfect once i get the the intake setup for with the GM MAF and trans in a blow though style.. i could duct the intakes on the hood right to the filter on the turbo.. (or thats where it will be)

got to get this damn clutch in first and the axle's/drive shafts are beign a pain in the ass to get out..

If the hood is functional just rig up a snorkle from that instead.
