adjusting cam gears on crower cams

I recently put my head back together and was wondering what to set my adjustable cam gears at. I called Crower and asked them and they said to set the cam gears at 0 and that was it. I know I have to have a starting point but it dosent seem to me like they cams would be working their best at 0. I would like to know if the guy at Crower was just telling me that just to get me off the line or not. I am planning on putting my engine back in the car this week and would like to have the timming belt done before I put it back in the car.

Well if you actually got a good set they should be ground on index and dont need to be degreed. But the only way to tell is take your car to a dyno and find out where the sweet spot is.

thanks alot. Will it be bad if i drive the car to the dnyo with the cams set at 0 or will it just not have the ass that it would have. I can tow it to the spot with my trailer. I dont want to harm anythign or take it back apart.

Leaving them at 0 is the best thing you can do. They were designed to be used with stock cam gears which is also the same as zero on your adjustable cam gears.

So leave them at zero until you can take it to a dyno, more often than most cam gears are just for looks

I couldn't agree more with boostinawd's words...

dyno it..find your power making setting. Leave it at that. If not, leave it at 0 and be done with it.
