6 bolt crank in a 7 bolt block can it be done?

ok so heres the deal i called a machine shop in dallas looking for a crank for my car and they said that a 6 bolt crank would drop in if i get a 6 bolt fly wheels . i was just wondering if anyone had any information on this or if anyone has done it that can give me some advice on it. thanx

to the best of my knowledge(wich is'nt much on this subject) the crank journals are'nt the same size.

I don't think it will work......if it did, you would see alot more people doing it!!
