Galant GSX [Merged 5-8]

My friend just bought a 1990 Galant GSX and he asked me what I knew about it and unfortunately, I don't know anything. Actually, I've never heard of this car. All I know is, is that it's AWD, non-turbo. Does anyone know anything about this car? Is there any way to retro-fit a turbo setup (i.e. manifold/turbo, ECU, etc) onto the NA motor? Does the exhaust manifold bolt right up? How strong are the internals? Or is it possible to just do a full turbo 4G63 swap? Thanks for the info guys

It is AWD NT what motor does it have I'm sure you could swap in a 4G63 or if it has a NT 4G63 you could do a turbo conversion.

It's a nt 4g63, i found a real cheap 7 bolt we might throw in there. Or we might take the parts off that motor we want (manifold, pistons, ecu, IC, various parts) and putting it on the nt motor and get some big rods, a 14b, custom IC piping and go that route.

Well considering the GSX is a 6 bolt then I would swap the parts from the 7 bolt onto it.

91 Galant GSX

Yes you read right its a Galant GSX, AWD n/a. I bought it for 800 dollars replaced the Radiator and the charged the battery and it started right up.

This is what I have off of a 92 eagle talon turbo.

Intake manifold
Throttle body
Inter cooler piping
exhaust manifold
Head
t-25 not a 14b
down pipe
oil pan
oil lines
intercooler
450cc injectors
Fuel Rail
NA ECU

I plan on auto crossinga and I was wondering how well the NA motors take to putting a totally stock setup on them Do you think that stock PSI is to much. How would I lower PSI to about 8. I think this would be a good number for my motor. But from my understanding you can't lower the stock psi below stock because of the wastegate actuator. I know Hondas put 8 to 10 psi on there blocks all the time. How do you think that my motor will take to this. I was planning on keepin the stock ECU and getting a MAF translator. I believe it will work and that way I wouldn't have to get a KNOCK sensor intalled on my block.

you should only be running like 6psi,and you would be best to run a turbo ECU with the knock sensor,it will screw right into your current block.

Thats what I was thinking but they're kind rare. I've seen a few, are they sohc 4g63 or dohc? Either way its probably a sinch to swap a 6 bolt turbo motor in, or if you were lazy just the exhaust manifold and turbo and associated parts. Hows about a pic of the engine compartment?

it's a DOHC...I have the same thing in my GSR (N/A FWD)
To turbo it correctly though you'd have to lower the compression ratio.
