Underside of valve cover

If youve ever noticed, the underside of our valve cover has a strange baffling that I was wondering what the hell is for. What purpose does it serve, I have a extra vc I picked up at the junk yard and the baffling is completely gone?

I think it is just basically to keep TONS of oil from spewing otu the PCV valve and breather.

That and so you can take your oil cap off with the car running and oil wont splash you in the face and give you 3rd degree burns...

not to mention getting it all over that pristine engine bay

I had my dipstick pop out(ok, let it go...) last nite at the track, and I had a huge synthetic slick under there...

or if you are at a meet or somewhere, who wants Mobile's best on their Armani/Gucci combo??
