Edmonton,
Ok, heres the deal. I was planing to get the Thermal R&D 3" SS Cat-back Exhaust. Because I have heard nothing but good things from you guys about it. Then I hear about Turbo-back. Now I dont know what I should be getting. Because of where I live I dont care about emmisions at all. Need power.................. So here are all my Q's.
1. How much better is Turbo-back?
2. Are Turbo-back as easy to install?
3. Do cat-back systems come with Catalac converters? (spelling?) and if not, can I get a test pipe made for the Thermal system?
4. Downpipes................um, I thought I heard you can use something else, for increased flow. If so, what whould that be?

1. 100x better than stock
2. yes, after you get your stocker off, and assuming the new one fits well
3. Not usually, some just bypass the cat and connect directly to the dp, others you will need to buy a cat or testpipe
4. What else would you use other than a downpipe?

I am curious as too where you heard about the 'Turbo-Back' system. Did they tell you that it was ALL from Thermal??
I could believe that it could come as a package but it would probably contain a downpipe, test pipe or catalytic converter, and actual cat-back exhaust. The cat-back is probably the only thing that would be from Thermal.
BTW, what was the price of the 'Turbo-Back' system?

I am sure Turbo-back is alot better that stock. I was trying to say, how much better that cat-back?
Does anyone know where there are pics of a Turbo-back system so I can see what it looks like compared to cat-back?
I just want to see whats differant about it.

A turboback comes with a downpipe, testpipe or cat, and then the catback.
Basically it's the whole exhaust.
thermal only makes catbacks, so you will have to go with another company for the dp & testpipe

Not something else per se but a O2 eliminator DP is maybe what your talking about. It eliminates to restricitve O2 sensor housing giving you true 3inch all the way from the turbo out.

Later,

ya, that is it. I guess I will wait a little longer and get everything exhaust at the same time. I'll go find me a 2g ported manifold too while I'm at it.
To the people out there that have 3" stainless steal all the way from the downpipe too the muffler. Can you give out where you picked up your exhaust, so others (like me) might pick out the best package deal for them. Turbo-back not as of a good deal as I thought it would be, and having trouble fitting misc parts together.
