Push button start bypassing ign switch and relay

Is this possible using my own relay? I have everything hooked up but i still cant start the car with the button, pretty sure my accessory wires are mixed up, any help?

It's hard to tell without pics or a diagram on how it's hooked up. On my Camaro, all I did was run 8GA fused wire from the battery to my push button IN, I cut the start wire from the ignition switch and put it to the push button out. Still had to put the key in and turn on the ignition for it to start but, would only start with the push button. The push button would turn the starter without the key in the ignition but the car would not run without in the run position.

Just disconnect factory starter signal wire and run a new 12g or 14g from it to the push button and to a switched 12v wire.
Starter won't turn with key off and starter won't turn with the key. Turn key on, push button, and vroom.

I want to give you the biggest hug right now , that helped so much plans changed so drag car build and did a full wire tuck and my reasoning for the push button is that the ign. switch is blown and my starter relay is bad...just ripped it out and want this to start the car, doesn't leave the garage unless going to the track or sunday coffee... so no security or key needed really

Alright hooked everything up and still no start... bad starter? right

If the relay is bad you won't be able to go through it. You'd have to bypass it and just run the wire out to the starter solenoid signal pin from the push button.

yes. That to push button then push button to battery. You'll still need a key to give power to everything else though.

That relay drawing is not correct. I will try to get a proper wiring up in the am for you.

I got it cranking, brain fell out somewhere and forgot to re solder my ign. switch ( I straight cut it out) this would make sense why the key does nothing when I turn it to the " ON" position correct? More pictures coming up today

87 is correct to the drawing.
30 needs to go to starter wire
85 needs to be ign on from the factory ignition
86 should have the switch wired in and grounded on the other side.

the switch will ground the relay to activate it as this will be the safest and most reliable way so you dont fry switches and or wiring.

I wasn't sure about terminal 85, I thought this was supposed to be grounded. Also didn't know the color of the IGN ON wire. I figured if this setup was correct than I could do the same for the acc1 and acc2.

That kit makes things simple for adding a push start button to a car setup from factory. However I was more curious in removing the ignition engine/chassis harness and placing in a different car. Thinning out the harness for the items I need and using fuses/relay's for start momentary switch, ign on switch, acc switch and any others I may add like fire safety.

Long story short, car is a drag build, I tore out the whole harness and cut I don't know how many pounds of excess wire and stuff that didn't need to be used. wiring in a push button is simple, run a wire from your button to the starter and the other to a switched 12v source.
