Fuelab AFPR Plugs/O rings look correct?

Okay, so I want to install my fuelab afpr so I can get my supra fuel pump and 2150cc injectors in. When I pieced together the afpr the o rings looked really weird to me and I just wanted to make sure it is normal before I install it on the car.

Mine do not look like that. Did you spray or put anything on them?

Those definitely don't look right. The O-ring should slip into the groove right before the threads.

Did you lightly grease the O-rings before install? Did those fittings come in some kind of kit with AFPR? Do you know if they are AN port fittings or ORB fittings?

Okay cool thank you, I'm glad I posted this. I believe I may have greased this. I put it together a few weeks ago and forgot to post this. I've been really busy with work and now I'm in the hospital. Yes the fittings came with the kit. They are an fittings. Ill take it apart and try to get them in correctly. I assuming pics number 5 and 7 are the only ones that look correct?

Yes, pics 5 and 7 look correct. The O-ring should seat inside the beveled edge on the thread side. Here's a picture to show what I'm taking about.

The concern I have with applying a lube to some o-rings is, in your case it can cause them to squeeze out, especially if the "lubricant" doesn't like the o-ring. I've learned the hard way not to put silicon spray on most o-rings as it can cause them to swell and distort. When in doubt, I usually just spit on them, . Works for other things, why not o-rings.

Okay, thank you. I don't remember exactly what I used but it seems oily. Ill clean them off the best I can when it gets here and hopefully I didn't screw up my afpr. Thanks for the advise.

Well the o rings are all ruined. They're all ripped. I'm gonna try to find some more so I can order them. Also I think I had a stupid moment and used oil on those o rings. It looks like there is a tiny drop of oil in the afpr. Would this hurt anything? How could I clean it out?

A little oil won't hurt anything. Most anything petroleum based (motor oil, bearing grease, etc) will dissolve in gas. Not much should get in there anyways, you just want the O-rings slippery.

These O-rings would work:
STM: AEROMOTIVE -AN O-RINGS | 15621 | 15622 | 15623 | 15624

If you need them on the spot, most parts stores carry an assorted pack of Nitrile O-rings.

Alright so I have one more question. I don't know what I was doing when I put the thing together but I noticed this.

As you see in this fitting there is a black o ring on the left side. Well I had the blue ones on the same side. Do the blue ones go on the opposite side where there is no o ring or do they both go on the same side?

You have it correct. The O-rings go on the flat-tipped end, towards the regulator. The other side is a male AN so it uses the flare on the end to seal.

The O rings that are supplied with the Fuel Lab AFR are a horrible fit. I ordered some aftermarket ones when I pieced my kit together. It's "normal" for this kit to have the o-ring look like that (because they are the wrong ones that are supplied).

My fittings already had the black o rings on there as well. So I left those blue ones that came in the kit off and it works great!

So the black o ring that's on the an fitting in the pic above is all I need? It was my understanding two o rings went on that side. If I only need one and the blue was were replacements(unused) then that is great news.

I'm not familiar with Fuelab kits as I've only used Aeromotive. But if the kit came with 2 sets of O-rings, then yes the others are just spares. You should only have 1 O-ring between the fitting and regulator.

Yes they are spares. I recently installed the same afpr and only used the pre installed black o rings.
