Hey guys,
My CEL went out one night and I pulled the code. It was a fuel trim bank 1 as defined... I assume it was the o2 sensor... but i havent verified yet.

The thing is, my TT (APEXI) reads O2 voltage, and the voltage at idle goes from 0.06 to 0.1 and thats IT!!!! it hardly moves anywhere...

also my AF gauge isnt going anywhere either, this is on autometer gauge.

I get about 18-20mpg which i think is normal...

what do you guys think?

could my O2 be bad?

YES it's bad, mine did the same song & dance and once i replaced it with a new one everything came back to life.

Don't go with a Beck & Arnley sensor, the heating element sucks in them. I have also hear from other dsmers in the area that bosch sensor s don't work well either. Go with a factory one from mitsu. I learned this the hard way.

thanks... hey when you replaced your o2 sensor, did your motor run better? smoother, better bottom end???

for some reason, mine feels slugish.. im thinking the o2 is the cause... how much is dealer price anyway??

thanks for your help!

ive never had any trouble with bosch and it is oem for many cars (including the oh-so-reliable hondas)

26 oz hammer and vise with 2 foot breaker bar. along with pb blaster and torch. sound like fun? it is :D

What about the Denso...anyone have experience with them? I'll have mine in tomorrow so I'll tell what I find if no one else posts

"DENSO Oxygen Sensors were rated as TWO TIMES MORE RESISTANT to silicone and lead poisoning." MachV.com

They have 'em for $84 and I had mine shipped next day and it came out to $106...I'm gonna be runnin 110 this weekend so I guess I'll see how well it stands up.

I only paid like $75 from the dealer. I think they give me the special price though. You might want call them. I call them every time I need something just to see what they want for it. On several occasions it's very expensive but sometimes the prices are good.

When i did my rebuild i decided to get a new o2 (mine died about 50 miles before it all) and in the first 1000 miles i killed a Beck&Arnley o2 sensor's heating element and i had a bosch go out on me (just died). So i bought a denso (from mitu) and i have had NO problems in 1000 miles.

I am sold on denso sensors now

my .02

Poor

Just another question, IS the front o2 and the rear o2 exactly the same??? 4 wire heated o2 senor????

they look identical.....

the reason why I ask is because I found out that the store that I purchased a new denso O2 sensor is for the back.. but I cut the wires and hardwired it in to the front.......I found this out after I installed it....

everything seems to be working fine now...

Does anyone know the part number off hand for the 2G pre-catalyst O2? From pepboys Bosch lists 15729 as the OEM and 15704 as the universal. The OEM plug does not match and is over a foot too short.

On another post I found that they correct bosch number is 13425. I am going to check on it tomorrow.

Yeah, i got 15704, had to samurai the wires to make em reach
kind of a PITA, but so is dropping $170 for one from the dealer

Just for reference, I went with the Bosch universal and soldered the wires up all nice, but the car never idles the same as it did before and my A/F gauge does not cycle as it used to.
