I'm trying to get all my parts together for my CC setup. Currently having FF make me one and I'm trying to determine the least amount of line I need to buy to make it.

I want it made from Russell Pro classic line nylon braided but wow it is expensive. I'm doing two -10 an from CC to VC then one single -12 from CC to FP intake. Just curious for those who have done it, how many feet I would need? I was thinking like 4ft of -10 and 2 or 3 ft of -12. The CC will be up where the battery used to be by the strut tower.
 
Is the CC currently on? You should mount the CC and take just a piece of regular hose to do all the measurements with, that way you can get the excat length of Russel braided hoses and that will help save some coin.

No he is currently building the CC for me otherwise I would do that. I just want to order all the fittings and hose before it arrives.
 
Well everyones CC setup is gonna be slightly different, so either just order extra hose or wait for the CC then measure and order hose. Your numbers seem good on the guesses you have, but can you even order like an exact length of that stuff? Like 4ft 9 inches?

No, it is sold by the foot. The -10an line is $13/ft and the -12 is $15/ft from STM. Then my local Jegs prices it out in 2ft increments. Anyone who bought the same CC as me should be very very similar in the lengths I need. Thanks for he help but I'm sure somebody with this setup will pop in eventually.
 
I have the FF catch can but my can is pulling off the oil cap and not the valve cover so is a little farther. About 2 feet should get you to the intake depending where the fitting is. You can view my review thread on here for an idea of how and where it fits. Also, i found summit racing was the cheapest on the Russell line.

Well just added everything up on Summit and you cannot do 4ft so -10 x 6ft and -12 x 3ft and all the fittings are $208 before shipping :sosad:

Technically you don't need to run braided stainless. People only do it for looks. So you could use black or blue hose, just a thought to save you money.

Save money and spend it some where else. You dont need ss braided line in something thats not pressurized. If you want the look just get braided nylon cover and regular silicone hose with pushlock fittings.

EDIT: Ok here is the deal, there was an error on one of the prices earlier for the Russel fittings. My total was actually $231 for everything before shipping/tax. With the Vibrant stuff It's only $119! Thanks a bunch dude, you seriously saved me a lot of money.

What is your opinions on fittings talonalex92? Two 90 degree for the top of the CC and two straight fittings for the VC part? And then two -12 straight fittings for the intake line?
 
I bought all my hoses from GETFAST1 on ebay. Great prices, and super fast shipping.

The products are very good quality for the price, and I cannot easily distinguish them from brand name (russel) products.

I compared them to house brand summit, and jegs and found it to be significantly less expensive and I believe it is really easy to obtain free shipping.

I bought the nylon braided because I didn't want to scratch stuffs with the steel braided.
 
If you're trying to save money why don't you just buy summit or jegs brand nylon hose and fittings.

That will save you a bunch. Its nylon hose that you're just using for a catch can, its nothing serious. Summit brand is a alot cheaper. 6ft is $42.95 10ft is $69.95

The fittings are $10-$20 a piece depending on the ones you need (straight, 45, 90)
 
Not all hose is created equal, but a catch can I doubt you can go wrong no matter what hose you use.

Fuel systems, boost control, etc. would be a far different proposition.

For those, you need to look at temperature, pressure, and fluid type rating and NOT just the cost.

Also, not all brands of hose work with all all brands of fittings.

Some will be too easy to assemble which means the potential for leaks.

Some will be nearly impossible to install which means frustration and added expense to get the right combinations.

Bradikus, Its really hard to say what will work on your valve cover. It depends on where and how you weld the fitting to it, as to what connecting fitting will work...if that makes sense. As for the intake suction line, I used a straight and a 45. If you don't want to mess with the pain of the valve cover, Hal makes the oil cap I am utilizing! Such a BA piece!

Valve cover getting sent off to have -10 fittings in both stock breather locations, new baffles and powder coated.

My thoughts exactly. Sure splurge when it matters, but for a CC I say buy the cheapest that works. And the stuff I mentioned was pretty tight hard to install. So I used a little squirt of clean motor oil to help assemble the fittings. I have used russell proclassic and it really feels about the same as far as build and assembly.

Surely when I switch from push lock to Braided AN for my meth setup, I will use quality stuff since well I don't want to be the pilot of a fireball.
 
I now buy all my AN stuff from Racepartsolutions.com They carry Fragola products, which I've found to be top notch & think they have about the best price around on Fragola (plus great customer service).

I'm not a big fan of the SS overbraid but they carry a complete selection of the nylon braided as well.

As always, if your doing anything with fuel (your not but thread readers may be), always use teflon lined hose, if you don't want your new setup to stink like fuel.
 
Race Part Solutions has PTFE. Just checked them out, their prices are pretty good LOL
