hRc 20g-->possible 11's??

hey all... the hahn racing craft "super" 20g turbo...

this turbo and kit lloks awsome, i mean u seem to get a lot for the money, comes with o2 pipe, install kit, and internal wastegate. the thing is though, is it possible to run 11's on this. b/c there is someone else on this forum with one (a gun metal spydder) and he runs low 13's, i think.

also the 10mm concerns me, will this thing end up spooling at like 4000rpm +?
who bought this, tell me your experiences.
 
It would be possible I don't know about practical. The turbo will spool to full boost close to 4k but with any 20g or equivelant there will be some lag.

4k? thats getiing steep, but like you said all 20g's are around there. im sure i want a 20g-size turbo, but have no idea which one, no idea at all.
 
This turbo can get you there. I have a friend that has one on his car and he is running a 12.4 at only 20psi and with 104 gas. The spool-up is not that bad. He hits fulls boost before I do with my T25. But he does have cams and is a M/T, but it suprised the hell out of me how it spooled up.
 
yeah i actually heard of good things about the spool up time on this turbo. i duno it just seems with this "super" turbo that soemthing is not right...

have any of you guys gotten a 20g from FP?? how much did you pay, im thinking i could jsut go fp and have them make me a --->ported,, not clipped, 20g, internally gated. just have no idea on the price it would be
 
There is a guy on DSM talk with the hahn 20G running 11's. I forget his name.

His car is fwd and I believe he did that on street tires didn't he which is a decent time. A properly tuned AWD should have no problems running 11's with a s20g.

For Sure - I have it on my Car - I have run.

I ran a 13.8@110mph with a 2.5 - 60'
Which I know is nothing to brag about.

but then again I wasn't trying to launch.
that was rolling into it.

My personal best is [email protected]
that's was trying - with Chrome Rims. and only the head light, passanger seat, and rear wing off.

I did that with a 2.3 - 60'

Anyways the key point is the trap speeds.

115mph should be good for 11's if you get the 60' down.

I'm FWD and I have no doubt that I'd be low 12's High 11's with Slicks.

I have yet to run fully gutted... and I have yet to run fully tuned..

My car made 363whp / 355 ft lbs Torque - which for me (stock internals) is about as far as I'm going to go. since supposedly the Block can only handle 450Crank HP - and with my WHP... that means my crank Hp is around 420hp.

Anyways in sort close enough for me.

I get full spool by 4000rpms.... starts at about 3400rpms.

My friend Paul Mittendorf ran 11.94 at 115.72 on the HRC 20G without that great of tuning at all. That turbo has pretty good potential for top end power.

I did hit a 13.5@105mph on this turbo with no tunning and on street radials. EGTs hit super RICH 820C on some 112 octane leaded gas(First time using Race Gas and didnt know what the hell I was doing .:confused: ) The only thing I took off the car was the spare tire in the back. Not the best launch and 60ft time of 2.3.

My boost set at 1.40 bar, but boost drop down to 1.20 towards higher RPMs (5k-7k) because my duty cycle on my AVCR wasnt tuned right to hold boost at the end. Electornic boost controllers especially the Apex one is confusing and I have to adjust the duty cycle per RPM in order to hold boost.

I have adjusted the Boost Controller, and now the boost is holding 1.40 bar to redline in the top of third. This turbo does have some crazy ass TOP END. Id say consider its power band 3700-7000RPM. I know I can break the 12s especially if I went to 24psi and played with the AFC.

Being the first time at the track, NO TUNNING at all, Id say I did pretty well. Most 20G's are the same, but the HRC is a bit different with the 10cm2 housing. The turbo is rated to support 500hp. Hahns FWD 2G has 508 to the wheels and hits 11s on race & 12s on pump gas. Unlike some turbo's, the HRC S20G can boost up to 30psi as long as you have the supporting mods to hold that type of boost.

Some say it sucks, but everyone has its own opinion. I personally like it it and this turbo does not let me down on the streets.
