Do i have a 90 transmission?

When i'm in first and i'm racing up i go and shift around 6500 rpm, and when i pull it out of first to go into second, the transmission would allowit to go into second until it is around 3500 or 4000 rpms. whats us with my tranny, are the syncros just going or is it the tranny from a 90 dsm.

Made a mistake, sorry.

The transmission won't allow it to go into second until it is around 3500 or 4000 rpms.

Why would the year matter at what point it shifted?

Your syncro's are probably on their way out.

Check your build date and/or pull the T-Case and count the splines to know for sure.

I can assure you I slam my 90 transmission into gear well above 4000rpm when at the strip...and quickly.
