i have a 1991 gst and its all stock what is the 0-60 and quarter mile time and how much hp do i have.

also if i turn the boost up will i run an type-r??????????:dsm:

If you have the special addition with the power button you can use it turn up the boost. If you do make sure you put it in awd so you don't spin the tires. The answer to your question is yes you can win with the button and I would say your pushing at least 300 hp to the wheels. Make us proud buy a honda and sell the DSM.

stock you have 195 hp, and 203lbs ft of torque. Your 0-60 is approx 6.3, quarter in 15 flat.

If by type R you mean an Integra, you will beat it, if both cars are stock. And even if he is mildy modded,(cat back, cold air intake, K&N) you will still pull away. Especially from a stop, or in any traction limiting situation, like wet, sandy, gravel etc.

If you follow the nice little guide we have here, availiable on the first page, called "tuning guide" you will see that for a few thousand, you can have a 300+ hp car, and no Integra(unless he spent BIG bucks) is gonna be close to ya

Best of luck, and have fun.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the type R runs in the 14's stock.

Yeah stock for stock on the cars with the same HP basically..the integra weighs hella less and has a redline of 8400...hmmm let see here....Type R will win bro...get the facts straight..

oh, sorry. I thought they had 170 hp, and like 125 or so torque.

Must be thinking of an older car. Plus front drive wheel spin is nasty, but my mistake. OMG

But hey, give it a run, don't just take our words for it.

also, you can make/buy a boost controller for a few bucks, and a cheap catback, plus open the air box a bit. Then you will have more fun. Oh, and GET A BOOST GUAGE! the stock one is not really a boost guage but a toy.

type r will pull away from stock dsm. when i bought my car i did a freeway run against one and i lost by about 1/2 car length

Type-R will pull a stock DSM regardless of the Year. A shop car that was bone stock with a good drivere got 14.6 in the 1/4.. You can make them go fast you just have to know how to launch a FWD car on radials. If you have somebody with a Type-R and some mods they can run low 14's easily. Put that motor into a Civic and run mid to high 12's so watch ou the are fast. (don't argue here, im a DSM guy working at a mainly honda shop and it's the truth as much as I hate to admit it...)

Like everybody else said if you mod your dsm properly type-r should not be a problem..

Since when does a cars redline have anything to do with how fast it is?

It has to do with gearing...rocket science shit. Don't worry about it.

stock type R is suposed to run 14.7 in a quater. That is with a perfesional driver behind the wheel. Most of us can hit 15.0 -14.8 in a stock Dsm. Depending on drivers skill, and on atmospheric presure. I think it will be a close race. It will all com down to drivers skill in the end.:dsm:

just ran at the track for the very first time today :)

Well I saw 2 Integras with Type-R badges on them. I did not run against them, but they both ran consistent low 15-high 14 sec passes. And our track (Mission Raceway Park) is VERY close to sea level, and has a very sticky compound. Also it was nice and cool tonite.

So either they both couldnt drive even one of their 8 passes, or they just had Type-R badges on regular Integras.

oh, and I ran a best of 14.09 at 98 :) I know not great, but for the age of my stock clutch and synchros, hehe not too bad.

i dont care wat anyone says its all about the driver,my buddy steve had a 91 talonfwd he is a nut when racing he really goes all out well anyways he raced a supercharged type r and beat him by 2 cars, steve only had turbo back, mbc @ 14, and a k&n ITS ALL IN THE DRIVER :)

yep, tell me about it :)

I pulled off 2 60' times of 2.5 seconds!! YUK! best of 1.98, I need work in the driving department. If I can get a 1.8 60' and not miss 4th, I will be well into the 13's, and as it sits, I'm just low 14's. Big difference.

What is the deal with people, search. .. is it really that tough, I have been a member here for a while and I have had to ask 2 questions, the rest I have found in the VFAQ and by searching this site, come on it's not rocket science:rolleyes:

By the way I really love this site:talon:

Come on, usually the second or third reply to a question like this is:

678 hp, 11.2 @ 182

I'm disappointed in all ya'll sarcastic SOBs. You be dozin' or sumfin.

I have been asleep most of the day...sorry to disappoint you.:p

oh really?! so your buddy would beat a twin turbo 509 cid?

a stock type r runs like 14.1 stock and the GSR 170hp Integ runs 15.2-14.9

True Type R's are fast, I don't under-estimate them. Sh*t I've been been by a 00 Si...but he had IHE and NAWZZZZ. Thing about it was I recently got the car and couldn't really launch (I still can't :( ) so I spun in first and shifted to soon into second but he only gained 1.5 car on me then I started to catch up a the rest of the race we stayed with my front bumper at his back. if only I had time and a place to practice launching...there just isn't a safe cop-free place that I have found near where I live.

i highly doubt a type R runs 14.1 stock oh and yea the gsr runs like a 15.7 stock. A type R with a good enough drive can do high to maybe mid 14's. An s2000 runs a 14.1 or so with about 45 more hp then the type R. Stock for stock it can be a good race. Do the free mods especially the boost control seloniod and you should win.
