alrighty, i have a question here i can't seem to find the answer to anywhere.

1g turbo car Vs a 1g N/A car

i know the block is different, but the raly answer im after is the head different in any way shape or form????. like oil passages, coolant passages. and just general line up of the manifold n crap.

i know the intake manifold and TB are slightly larger

I recently did my head on my car and it was exactly the same as a N/t. I also thought the cams were different but i checked part #'s at a local shop and they were the same also.

nope, not that im shocked, but a guy on the gateway list said the same thing. which means more free parts for me. and inheriently more power

Old thread but want to be sure.My 1990 turbo engine bent the valves but I have a complete 93 NT head so Everythings the same?Ill be using theturbo's intake just making sure the valves and cams etc. are exactly the same. I appreciate it.

if the heads and block are the same how are the compression ratios different on the n/t and turbo

I am in the process of putting a 1G 7bolt N/T head on a 6 bolt block and I have noticed some differences in some coolant passages on the head. And also the ARP head bolts are too big in diameter for the 7 bolt head but i'm sure that can be fixed at the machine shop. Anyway there are 2 more coolant passages on the 7 bolt head in between #1and2 and #3and4 cylinders but I it shouldn't make a difference. The head gasket should close them off and it will be OK. If anyone has done this before and has any insight I would appreciate it. :thumb: :dsm:

When putting a 1G head on a 2G 7bolt, you need to use 2G ARP hardware and 2G headgasket as well...
