external wastegate location

I am in the process of planing out my setup for when I get my VR4.

I am going with a AGP L2R turbo, with an external wastegate. but I haven't decide weither to have the wastegate attacked to the manifold or the 02 houseing. I wanted to know if there was any distinct advantage or disadvantage to each setup.

You really want to run your external either off the collector of the manifold or off the o2 housing. Your best bet is probably just an o2 housing with the external wastegate flange.

Not if you run it off the o2 housing but you'll need a new o2 housing.

If you run it through the o2 housing then you are getting flow from all the runners, if you do it off the collector of the manifold its the same, if you do it off one runner then its not a good idea.

One quality external gate should give you all the flow you need. And the internal will hinder spool time.
