Hi,

Just because there isn't enough drama in my life, I'd like to open the floor to 3" O2-eliminator downpipe comparisons. My requirements: full 3" (no 2.5" necking down to 3"), replaces (or has an option to replace) the O2 housing with a full 3" unit, internally-dumped (this is a street car, and I'm fond of passing emissions), must have a flex section, and must be stainless steel (welcome to Chicago, salt capital of America). I'm already running a 3000GT VR4 oil filter, so as long as that's short enough to clear the downpipe, I'm good. I need a cat, and would like to order it from whoever I source the downpipe from, to ensure fitment.

The current contenders:
  • RnR Racing: Obviously good customer service; their responsiveness on DSMtuners can only reflect on the kind of responsiveness you'd see as an actual customer. Looks like a good piece, although I do have some concerns about the way the wastegate dump tube connects to the turbo flange after seeing pictures in a previous thread. Price would appear to be $530 for what I need, plus shipping. (website)
  • Hahn Racecraft: I've received reports of horrible customer service from several local folks and a few boards, but all related to their turbos and intercoolers (everyone I know with their downpipe is happy with it). These guys are local to me, so I'm paying taxes, but no shipping; price appears to be $650 plus taxes. (website)
  • ATR Performance: I know embarassingly little about these guys. I can't tell whether or not their product is a cat eliminator as well, or if it's short enough to take a 3" cat. I'm also not sure whether or not this one sports a flex section. I can get this from a local shop for what appears to be $450 plus $150 for a cat (assuming it mates up), plus taxes. (website)
So, any insights from anyone before I drop the money on one of these? Quality of the parts and fabrication? Responsiveness? Features you just can't live without? (Right. It's a pipe. Uh. But this one's SHINY! ;)) If you think your response to a particular company's service will violently abuse the rules, PM me, and I'll try to summarize impressions in a rule-friendly way.

(And if anyone has any insights into fitment with any of these setups with an HKS Carbon-Ti catback, I'd love to hear it; that piece of the puzzle is already on it's way. :D)

RNR Racing-Best bang for your buck
Hahn-Expensive but still a good peice
ATR- As much as I like there cat-backs there DP does not have a flex-section so I don't recommend it.
