Many people say it's really not worth it, but why not??
HOnestly let me know what are the benefits and if there are any. I need a non-biased opinion, my car currently has 103,000 miles, i can have a 35,000 evo III swap done for $1,700 everything swapped. I will be pumping out 310hp easily with a MBC and air intake/filter.

Would getting 300+HP with $1,700 or less in parts for my current engine be possible?

Has anyone done the swap in a 2g??

Thanks

The good thing about the EVO engine are bigger turbo and injectors. That's how it gets it's 300 HP. If the turbo is damaged. Most places don't have the turbo under their warrenty. If it is damaged, your stuck with a regular JDM engine pretty much. The only JDM engine swap worth getting is the EVO engines because of this. Also keep in mind it MAY be abused. So before you pick one up, make sure the turbo and engine is in good condition.

Another good reason to get this swap is it's a 7-bolt so it should drop in fairly easy on a 2g, unlike a 6-bolt swap.

I was going to go this route, but ended up getting a built 6-bolt motor instead. I thought to myself, I am going to swap turbos, and injectors down the road. And if I want more power, I am going to have it built to handle the power. I'll also know exactly what's been done to it. And it's pretty much new after that. You can also build a better engine than the EVO, but it will cost more.

If you think your not going to get any bigger then the 16g, I think you should get the EVO swap. Since that will be the cheapest route.

If you are going to go all out, get a built engine. Because you'll probably end up building up the EVO engine if you want some more power.
