hey guys i hope not the get flamed for this one..
im going to do a sixbolt swap on my 95 gst..i will do this my self.
i know that there are some things that need to be modified so that the 6bold will fit my car.
things such as the engine mount. auto tensioner. and i think rewiring the crank angle sensor.
i have read somewhere that the oil pump from the 95 has to be modified to fit the six bolt engine..is this true? if so has anyone done this themselfs and how though was it?
secondly..i have read in my chilton manual that the six bolt engine has a compression of 8.1 which threw me off since i read here that that motor has higher compresion than the 95 engine..can some one please lighten me up on the compresion of the sixbolt engine..
what else would i need for the swap..besides the t=belt things and the modification stated above..?
and one more thing .
does 850 shipped sound good for a sixbolt engine??
thanks guys
i have done plenty of search in this website...but more is always good
thanks again:thumb:

850 doesnt sound bad at all if its a complete 6bolt you are getting a decent deal............also if i where you i would check out magnusmotorsports.com and read the TECH ARTICLE about the swap they have everything you will need in that article.

peace and good luck man.

The compression in 1gen turbo motors is 7.8:1 not 8.1:1, not sure where that came from unless you where looking at the N/A motor specs., but I believe that they are 9:1 comp...

thanks guys..i check out the magnus article and found out that i dont really have to modify the oil pump if i modify the cam pos sensor to read crank and cam angles(using a cam/crank sensor for a galant i believe ..
so then installing the higher compresion pistons would prevent knock in some way and would help the turbo spool up better..am i correct?
and so i install the 95 pistons with 91 piston rings? or will the 95 rings work as well..
also i have read in the posts and at magnus(not sure) that the 95 pistons are biger in diameter then the 91 piston.is this correct?
cause know that the conecting rod has to be machined to fit the wrist pin from the new pistons as well as shortning the smaller end height to accomodate for the piston..right?
thanks again guys..
also i found out that the sixbolt engine maybe a complete engine from the tbody snorkle to the turbocharger and i think it 850 shiped is this good?
thanks again:thumb: :dsm:

Installing higher compression pistons will help spool up but at the same time you will not be able to run as much boost, although the head design in these motors allows descent compression with a turbo I really don't recommend anything more than 9.5:1 comp. unless you really build up the internals. The 95' pistons will fit in the 6 bolt motor, and you need to use the 95 rings i believe, I think the rings are a differnet thickness. As for the big rods you need to have the small end thickness taken down and the wrist pin hole enlarged, the measurements are at www.vfaq.com hope that helps.:talon:
