I'm currently rebuilding my motor and I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to throw in a new oil pump? The block had 143k on it and the oil pressure according to the stock gauge was just above the low mark, typical for most DSM's. I know it's not accurate so please don't flame me for this! I'm also installing the b-shaft elimintor kit which should raise the oil pressure a bit. I figure this will help, but it couldn't hurt to replace it anyway and would save time in the long run if it were to go out. But what are the chances it would go especially if I run the car hard this summer? Where would be the best place to get one from? Conicelli? Are there any aftermarket ones that'd be worth while? Thanks for any input.
