Ok this i how it is. I obviously have a 1g dsm, a 1991 Mitsu Eclipse GSx. I need to know which parts i would need to buy to get the optimum performance out of this car, i have 1500 to spend, please tell me what parts i need or refer me to someone who knows. Thanks for your help guys.

First, you should have put this in the newbie forum....on the other hand....here is my opinion: Tires ($600), Exhaust ($450), Intake ($315, something that replaces the MAS; find a 2g one at a junkyard), Manual Boost Controller and gauge ($135). That would be my basic upgrades.

keep the 1g maf... it works fine till you flow enough air for it lose counts. I'd prolly suggest a full exhaust (3" or 2.5" depending on your goals), MBC, boost gauge, K&N drop in filter (hack your aircan), upper IC pipe, turbo outlet elbow, Good tune up (NGK plugs & wires), & Tbelt job...

i agree...dont try to jump just yet. do supporting mods for now. intake, exhuast, boost control, puel pump, tune-up, replace hoses & worn air lines & belts, new tires wont hurt (especially if your going 130mph+).IMO

with $1500 i would buy

1) 3" down pipe the buschur one comes with a free test pipe for $300

2) buschur 3" catback $480

3) upper intercooler pipe $250

4) manual boost gauge i got the extreme on for $80(set it at 15-16 and yank the lower honeycomb)

5) boost gauge the vdo 30-30 was $45

6) all free mods

7) k/n drop in $45

8) you have spent $1200 so far

9) dejon tools turbo inlet pipe i paid like $110 for mine i think

you will need a gauge pod, i like the www.gaugepods.com tripple for $40

you have just spent $1350, now you can spank 90% of the rice boys on the road. for what they spent on their body kits and rice light 96-98 mustangs will be a breeze at this point also. the other 150 will be needed for gas, because with you're new found fun, gas tanks will empty at an astounding rate:D

The only reason I said to get a 2g MAS is to make getting a turbo inlet pipe and filter a little easier...fyi. Also, I forgot that you have 15" or 16" rims (vice my 18") so $600 for tires was a little over anyway. You can probably get some good high performance all weather street radials for about $400-$500. I have a friend with a Laser Turbo and with the free mods and a MBC he was squealing tires ALL the time. That's why I make it a higher priority than most.
