clutch disaster

ok, my clutch went, i brought it to a local guy to get a new one replaced, i bought a spec stage 3 clutch. first off he says the stock one is better.... now the car has been sitting there for a month. if i had the money to tow it i would. he now claims he needs a cherry picker to lift my engine up, so when he takes the tranny out the engine won't fall through. is this true? i been getting so pissed lately. i whole month. i can't take it no more. let me know what ya guys think about this.

Well he does need something to support the engine when he removes the tranny. Here, study the vfaq, maybe it'll give you a lil ammo so he doesn't screw you over.

He shouldn't need anything more than a jack stand or a spare jack to put under the motor. On 1st gens 3 of the 4 mounts are on the motor, on the second gen 3 of the 4 are on the tranny so you do need somthin to support it, but not a cherry picker.
