How much harder will a green or 20g pull in 3rd over a t28? I'm looking for a hard pulling 3rd gear since I'm fwd. Will the green give me traction problems in 3rd gear if the road conditions are good?

Basically I'll have all the injectors, a/f, 3" exhaust, fmic, before I add a t28, 20G, Green...

Basically will a t28 have similar perfomance in 3rd gear or will it lose to a green or 20g?

Well, not answering your question, but I would never put a T28 on a FWD. You will be struggling to keep those tires from spinning in 1st and 2nd since it spools up so fast.
If I had a FWD I would find a bigger turbo that didnt spool up until almost 4k..

THe t28 would pull harder down low because thats where it peaks, but the Green or 20g would pull harder up top.
Really what you want is high RPM torque.
Although if you race from a roll the t28 is good to pull on whoever your racing with right off the bat.

Well aside from the wack ass advice from 98TsiAWD, all are dope turbo's. Why woudl you even have to ask this question though? If all modded correctly and tuned do you think that larger turbo's are made to go slower? WTF... Ofcourse the 20g or green will annihilate the T28 from most all gears except 1st...

big turbo = cooler air = more power but more lag = good for fwd
smaller turbo = hotter air = less power but less lag = bad for fwd

How am I suppose to know how the turbo will perform on my car unless I sample all 4 or 5 different setups...

to be honest with you i would just start with a bigger turbo, but from reading this post it seems you need to do a lil more research on the different turbos that are out there for our rides. I would say if you put the smaller of the turbos on yes you will feel a difference but you will be diappointed in the power the turbo will allow you to make. Soooo i guess what im saying is go with a bigger turbo like the 20g or green so you arent dissapointed on the performance your getting, but something you will need to consider is the modds to support this/these turbos, but then again its all your decision man you pick what you want its your car and your pocket!

have fun :dsm:

Rule of thumb to remember.

With a Big28 you can throw it on the car and without much tuning you can go pretty fast with the right supporting mods and fuel work.

With a larger turbo like the Green/20G everything is about tuning. Without proper tuning your Green/20G will be no faster then the T28 style turbo. I speak from experience on this issue.

Personally with FWD I would just slap a Green/20G or some other full Garret 50trim on the car and enjoy the little extra lag for the traction issues and love the top end pull.

I'd go with a larger turbo, think of the turbo lag as a curteous head start.
(it's in someone's sig...)

there is a gst in town with a t28, and he spins like mad when he's starting. He wishes he'd gotten a bigger turbo so the boost wouldn't be so instant. When I first got my car and hadn't been driving stick for more than a couple of days, and had no mods I raced him just for fun. I jumped him like nobody's business of the line, but by 40 mph he was already way ahead of me... now we've got about the same mods, so I'll race him this spring and we'll see how things go this time;)
