i just got done cleaning my throttle body out with car cleaner. for some reason my car is running like absolute crap. its running real rich, it backfires, it lags, and it feels like im running out of fuel when i floor it. is this normal? if so how long till it runs good again.

Did you take the TB all the way off to clean it or just take the IC piping off to spray inside? Either way I'd check the vacuum hoses and piping clamps, maybe you have a leak on the hoses, lines, or gaskets.

i pulled it out a little but i didnt disconnect it all the way. i dont think anything is un connected or any hoses are off. i made sure they werent. could it be just because of the carb cleaner?

i just took my car out again and this is what it does.

even if i tap on the gas the exhaust backfires or "pops"

in 4th gear if i floor it, it does nothing for a few second then power kicks in

in every other gear it runs like crap. feels like fuel cut. please any ideas will help.

i also noticed that the throttle cable from where it connects to the throttle body and then runs to the intake manifold its real loose. could i have pulled on it making it loose? or does have to be something else.

any help please

Check all the connections to the TB to make sure you didn't pull anything loose. Check the connections at the TB, and at the other end of where they connect.

LOL geek.. my freind did what you did he did everythign right but his idler air control motor was gettin bad and him cleaning it with crab cleaner just made it worse
