Good day eh,
Today I was paging through and old issue of Turbo & High-Tech Performance (Sep '02) and found a catback exhaust shootout for the 2000 Celica GT-S. I realized 3 things:
1) Squeezing horsepower out of that GT-S must be like squeezing blood from a turnip. Max gain was about 6 HP and 2 ft-lbs.
2) Celica exhausts should come with a tub of KY jelly.
3) Someone needs to perform an exhaust shootout for DSMs.
I'm gonna focus on the last one. Is there a shootout like this I don't know about? If not anybody else willing to try a letter drive to Turbo or something? They seem to do a decent job with hardware reviews (despite the tip diameter fixation) and they might have the name-recognition to get manufacturer participation.
I'd personally prefer a turbo-back competition to eliminate some variables, and it would probably end up a FWD system test unless they have an AWD dyno. And no, I'm not trying to exclude N/T owners or pick on Celica owners (although I stand by #1 and#2).
