I've been looking around for some info about the Garrett turbo off of ford mustang's and thunderbird's and mercur xrati(s.p?) with the 2.3 engine. I'm curious, because I have 3 or 4 of these laying around from my Turbo-Coupe days. Some one told me that they maybe a T-3, any ideas?

they are t3s, I think 48/60? I could be mistaken though, i do know they are t3s though, I was pulling one from a turbo coupe in a junkyard once and a turbo guru stopped to speak to me about them, he also said the ones off an (saab or audi? forget which) are better...
 
:dsm: hay i have a turbo out of an audi and one out of a thunderbird and a garret out of a f350 ford sitting at the shop will any of them fit with any luck they are all like new exept the audi the f350 is 02' and the thunderbird is like 95 or suttin the car had 20k and it was rear ended let me know thanx:confused:
 
SVO mustangs, cougars, tbirds, and XR4TI's with 2.3's all came with T3's with .63 &.60 A/R's. The Later T-birds(87-88) were intercooled and had IHI turbos... hence the "1H1HRHB-52" ???? HUH?

OOOOHHHHHH! That makes sence! :D I also have a couple Sabb turbo's too, What makes them better? Is it just better because it's a closer displacment motor? I know my Sabb 900 pulls HARD in all gears.

hey guys i hvae one of these turbos and i really want to put it on my car anyone doen this or no how to do this any info would be great thanks

That is a badass setup. That manifold is one of the things you'll need (or an adapter plate). You will also need an O2 housing and possibly a new downpipe. One thing, that manifold is around $500. so i guess i need to ask..... is it worth buying a $500 manifold for a turbo that is not much different (flow wise) than a 14b?? I might even go as far as saying, a 14B has more potential. the only advantage would be replacement turbos (t3) are dirt cheap and can be found in junk yards everywhere. But if you do put it on your car... a T3/T4, like the one pictured above, is going to be that much easier to bolt on when you're ready.
