I heard that the electronic variety would trick the wastegate into staying fully open till just the right time then close it for the right boost setting. This would cause the boost onset to be much sooner. In my oldschool Turbo mags, they couldn't praise them enough for doing everything superior compared to a MBC. Now I read here that MBC's hold boost at a preset level better. Don't the high quality electronic units still have a performance advantage rather than just the convenience of staying in the car?

that would be true, but its the other way around. the ebc will keep the gate shut and then open it quickly to maintain a given boost level.however its not a big enough difference to make a HUGE differnece in spoolup.

Well I know that the XS Boost controller I believe thats the name. There dual MBC has a switch that can be placed in the car so you can set to bost levels one for street and one for the track. All you have to do is flip the switch and it changes boost. Thats pretty cool for a MBC if you ask me but it's about $236 if I remember right. Still cheaper than a EBC but very effective for a MBC IMO.Heres and pic and price from DSM Performance

Manual boost cotrollers rule IMHO! They are Simple to hook up. They are way cheaper, and will hold high boost levels rock steady. Just set your boost to it's highest setting for your set up, and then let your foot control your boost pressure on your gas pedal as your watching your boost gauge. You ARE monitoring your boost gauge aren't you? That's all you have to do. Why would you have to have two different boost settings? You can control your boost pressure by how hard you have your foot mashed down on the gas pedal, no matter how low, or high you have it set. All you have to do is watch your boost gauge.

I have the turboxs controoler, and I'm looking for a profec b! Any questions?
I think the electronic ones are better, I think my turboxs is broken. But I would like the profec b.
The rx7store.com link didn't work?!

I had electronic...went manual. It holds steady and strong and I noticed a big difference in my car's performance. Only thing I don't like is not having it in the car to play with (adjust) :D

I have the hallman...$50 shipped in a day or 2
