I just picked up a used Throttle body that I believe to be in the 58-60mm range for my 2g. I believe this to be just a bored out stock 2g TB and it has a JG stamped on top (but not on the butterfly). Anyway, when I got home I noticed that the vacuum connection was missing for the P connection (no metal tube protruding out just an opening). This by the way, came off of a 99 GST Spyder. Mainly, the stock one has the P, E and A vacuum connection on top. Now I'm not sure if this would still work for me. So, if anybody has any thoughts as to how I can hook this up and/or how to deal with the vacuum connection would be much appreciated. Sorry, no pics yet.

Thanks.

hmm only way i can think of and it might constrict flow.. would be to take a small pice of metal pipe that makes a good fit (thin of a wall as posibly) and maybe tap the hole and put threads on the end of the pipe and use that.. then just put the hose/tube on.. but if there is no sighn of one ever being there i duno if it would even be able to use it...

Anybody knows what the P connection is for? Maybe that'll help me figure it out. Also, the missing connection just appears to just have been pulled out and if need be I can use the one on my stock TB. However, from the way it looks the top nipple looking thing is open the hole, where the tube for P would be, appears to just be a hole with no path going inside the throttle body. Anybody?

Thanks

All of the vacuum lines coming off of the throttle body are emissions related. You do not need anyof them for your car to run. Of course I'm speaking from a 1g point of view. On my '91 TSi I have all of the Throttle body nipples blocked off except for the p that runs ONLY to my boost gauge.

I doubt it was just pulled out......I just checked my stock TB and it never had a P line on it either. I believe the '98's did though. I'll try and check my brother's tomorrow and see where it goes. I'm sure it can probably be tapped to another line to make it work.

yes, this is true, but you will get CEL's all the time.

here's the routing of a 99 Throttlebody without the P line

Pull the hoses, cap em off, zip tie tie the caps, done. Just did this to my '98 GSX and its runnin smooth - Im sure I'd get the CEL if I hadnt removed the bulb - oh well, emissions is for cali. :)

Thanks guys. I took a look at the 99 GST and the P line IS missing. I wonder why that is but anyway, I'll try to figure something out of LTUSPE's diagram and see, hell my CEL is already on anyway due to a fuel pressure solenoid thang.
