Hey guys, I am going to get an FP big28 installed in a couple weeks and I would like to know what should be ported for the turbo to work best... I know to do the 02 housing, but what else?

I would STRONGLY consider doing a 14B swap.. the t28 may be better than the 14B, but the 14b is cheaper to install (about 230 total in parts + the turbo which can be found cheap or even free) so your looking at about maby 500 bucks.. and dont let it fool you with ported turbo, exhaust mani, and 02 the 14b is a HUGE upgrade over the T25.. with is great but what is really great is you can then upgrade to a 16G for STILL less than the t28 costs (total) and you dont even have to remove the exhaust housing from the car..

upgrading from a T28.. will cost ya big, becuase youll either have to buy all the crap to install a 16G OR get some super expensive garret stuff..

the T28 is a dead end road.. a burnt bridge..

I highly recommend having the turbo, exhaust manifold, and O2 housing ported. That's what I have with my FP Big28 and the car runs strong.

I already bought the turbo for a good price, my friend is doing all of the porting for 30 bucks, and I'm going to install it myself. with new gaskets, the turbo, and porting I'll be well under 600 dollars.
This is fine for me, because I'm not planning on going any bigger than the big28.

Please jump off a cliff.

If you want to pretend you're still in the early nineties, before Garret came out with the GT Series wheels, which absolutely piss all over a vast majority of Mitsubishi's turbine designs, go right ahead.

It cost me absolutely nothing to install my T28 varient, other than the porting of the O2 housing.

You're an idiot! No, but really. What were you thinking when you said that? :p

If you decide you want to upgrade from a t28 down the road, all you have to do is rip that bi*** off the same as you would a t25. So how do you figure its a dead end road? I think that a t28 is a great upgrade and if you do plan on going bigger in the future, you now have some tuning experience with the 28. ;)

I agree with you 100%! I guess mid to low 12's isn't fast enough for him, because that's what several 2g awd's have already run with the little monster, and fwd's are trapping in the 109 to 111 range with it. Alot of 2g guy's seem to forget that a 14b isn't going to perform as well on there car as compared to a 1g without a head swap, which actually according to his profile he already has, which is good. He's also going to need the 1g intake manifold as well as the 1g tb to get the most out of his 14b, and even then he will still not even be close to the power potential of the FP Big28.
