When upgrading Camshafts, should I also change to adjustable cam gears or stay with the stock cam gears. Should I also upgrade the valve springs?

Also when upgrading the pistons, should I also upgrade the rods?

Thanks,

Dan

Guys, what does yeah mean. It is a must, or I should or it is best to. I need more precise help. If I don't, what are the disadvantages? Will it cause harm to the engine. Take into account that I only have 17,000 miles on the car. Thanks.

Dan

First of all, you need to give us some specifics..What are your current mods? What are your expectations with the car? Why do you want to upgrade pistons to begin with? Help us help you......

There is no book on how everyone shoudl build there motors...
I dont understand what the point is?? You do not have to do anything...but you know damn well that upgrading springs/retainers is prolly a good idea wiht cams for many reasons. Some people dont have the money and dont do it which is also fine. Some people upgrade pistons without rods and some dont...all depends on your goals, budget ...etc no rules here man. Plan your shit out, set a budget and go from there. Talk to vendors and engine builders...

Most people have a misconception of things before they buy them and figure it out and I know thats why most ask abotu products first. But the stock 4G63 can go a LONG LONG way and is mroe than enough fo rmost people;)

it is wise to... i dont think i would change the rods though unless your gona change the pistons to higher compression one's or change the rings... and the only since your that deep in the engine mid as well do it then than half to a while down the road...
