exhaust sound clips???

Anyone got sound clips of there exhaust? I plan on going 3" turbo back, but I'm not sure on what brand...I don't want to sound like a honda, a bumble bee, raspy..etc..etc.. Something nice a nd low and DB legal..sort of

DSM's don't sound like Honda's no matter what exhaust you get...I have the Apexi N1,no sounds clips though.

I have a 3" all the way with a magnaflow bullet muffler and it sounds sweet as he!!, loud but unlike any honda or other import i know of.

well, i can tell you that there is a GOOD raspiness to exhaust. i heard a 1000hp Supra w/ HKS Titanium and it was raspy....more like a lemans car though. the reason hondas sound so crappy is: high compression, crappy output. we dont have that problem. ive heard a thermal cat-back and it was...........WOW!!! The thing rumbled the concrete, but it wasnt raspy at all. If I had to narrow it down, I'd probly go w/ either the Buschur 3" or the Thermal 3". Ill prbly go with the Buschur cuz it's a little louder, and I like that. just my $0.02!

I love my exhaust, 3" Extreme/Thermal R&D with race pipe...Nice & deep with a powerful sound, until the external dumptube drowns it out when i floor it, hehe...

Back to topic, the Apex N1 has the best sound by far to me. Nice and deep through the low-mid end, and nice n' thoaty up top

All 3" systems sound really similar. Your DSM will never sound like a Honda. You have a turbocharged 2.0.


Look for a syste that is a full 3" with no reducers or 2.5" bends in it. Also mke sure you get a straight through muffler.



I would suggest a 3" 02 elim turbo back with SS muffler.and 4" tip. This is our version of the N1 turbo back(looks the same). But is a true 3" and performs much better.

A.Van and Megaman, The apex N1 only has a SS canister, the rest of the system is aluminzed steel. They put a descent coat of paint on it that last me thru the winter in SLC UT, but for about $10 a foot for 3" dia pipe, HPCoatings will coat it with a very good product that will take abuse from salt or heat, They do have multiple forms of coating available, and are quick on service, best part is that they are 15 min from my house. I am getting my IC pipes and ex done. Sorry for the late response.

As for sound, people always say that is sounds really good (even some nice senior citizen guys made a comment). They are sick of the honda rumble cans, and are pleased to hear a descent sound from a car, then you mention that it is ONLY a 2L and they are like whoa, what did the honda guys do wrong with theirs? Forget to use all the bolts? It gots to make you smile.

the APEXi is coated in some stuff that is purple looking. You cant just buy an apexi front pipe w/o there cat back it is too long and will not fit with anything else. I have there turbo back though.

was looking through old threads search for sound clips and came across this one. Just wanted to comment that Borla is a good quality exhaust for any car. Popular exhaust for F-bodies if you have the money. Nice deep sound, might be looking into Borla or Greddy. Haven't witnessed the sound on a DSM yet tho.

well for 3 inch exhaust systems I have the buschur racing turboback exhaust. Its pretty light and the dynomax muffler they come with actually sound very good. It has a rip to it when you romp it. Sounds sweet.

hey everyone. . i was just curious. .if they make. . any apexi DownPipes for the GS-T and also apexi or HKS(hi-power, etc) cat Back exhaust systems for GS-T. . or if you guys not anyother. . nice exhaust systems that are not to loud for in town driving, but are still a nice deep sound. . my city cops trip about the loud exhaust. . thanks.
