Exhaust sound?!?!?

How would I go about giving my gsx a deep, low exhaust sound? My friend has a gst, and he has 3" piping straight from the turbo, and the way to his muffler...... in short, it sounds like garbage!!!! It is way too gargly, and has no deep tone to it at all. I am thinking about getting 3" piping from the cat back, and a universal Tanabe Racing medallion muffler (since they apparently don't make a Racing medallion system for the gsx). I don't want it to sound gargly at all. Please help.

I have heard that the 3" Thermal Catback is the best sounding exhaust.

DSMs will always sound like DSMs...but the apex n1 DP and catback is a good choice =)

my rnr catback has a very deep and low sound to it...and i should be getting an 02 elim dp soon.

I've heard the ATR cat-back and the Thermal system both with Buschur 2.5" downpipes and from what you described, I would say go with the Thermal. The only problem is the 5" tip draws a lot of attention, and it's not always good.

I have a thermal cat back and a apex i down pipe. Itsounds great andis quietuntil you open the throttle then it roars. I love it so go w/ thermal

get a custom bend w/ an apex'i dunk muffler, that way you can confuse everyone into thinking that your a Mack Truck before they see you

it sounds "gargly" because theres a hairdryer in the exhaust system.

dude dont knock the sound, this aint no buzz box civic, its turbo and it should rumble like thunder and the roar like monster up in the high revs...

i have an HKS hyper 2.5" cat-back on my talon. i absolutely love it. its got a nice, deep, throaty sound to it. at higher rpm it sounds amazing. and its never obnoxiously loud so u wont suffer from drastic headaches. plus, its diagonally positioned and looks beautiful. i dunno if looks are what ur going for on the exhaust though :laugh:

You don't even know how funny that is that you said I should get custom bent piping with a dunk muffler...... my friend has a 96 gst, and he has the exact same system. 3'' all the way from the turbo, straight to the dunk, no cat at all. I don't like the sound whatsoever. Like you said, it sounds like a mac truck.....
