What is the max boost you can run on a small 16G before its just putting hot air in on the stock side mount for a 1G. Also how much boost can the stock injectors handle if you are running a 190 denso fuel pump?

I would probably say that it's not how high the boost level is, it's how long the car has been running hard that will determine when you'll start putting hot air into the intercooler. What I mean by that is, the engine temps will rise and the intercooler will begin "heat soaking" after X laps around the track, regardless if you have your boost set to 12psi or 16psi.

I would say that the 190 pump can probably handle about 16psi on stock injectors.

Im running 11psi on a ported 16g right now with stock exhuast (all of it) and a 190 pump. I also have an EGT and they are right at 1600. Do your self a favor and if you dont have an EGT get one. Its not that much money and its not that hard to put in. Just get the TRE probe, and a westach egt gauge and put it out of site.. its for a damn airplane. I have mine in my glove box and when setting boost or big change in temps i get it out and make a small run and watch the egt. But that way with an EGT your safe and you know how much you can run and just not what you "could" be able to run.

I am going to set it to 11 PSI on a stock car. I still have the stock fuel pump. I am ordering the fuel pump friday. Would it be ok to run 13 PSI on a total stock system with just the small 16G? I am going to order the egt gauge the same time i get the fuel pump.

I would not run anymore than 11 psi on stock pump. Im running 11psi on the 190 and my temps are hot. But then again every car is different. But just me dont turn the boost up till you get the EGT.

Thanks for the info. Oh how much more power does a 16G put out compaired to a 14B for example would 11PSI on a 16G be the same as 15PSI on a 14B?

Turbochargers don't "put out power".

The small 16G flows about 20% more (all things more or less equal) than the 14B.

First order of the day after installing the new turbo would be a careful run with a logger.

I agree with you 100% Mike. After the 16G is on i am going to start with the boost at 11 pounds and do a run with a loger to check my fuel and kock. If everything is fine i will trun it up to a max of 13 PSI untill I order my fuel pump. I should be ordering it friday, or some time this weekend.

I am going with a walbro 190 fuel pump. I have heard the 255 are very loud and i am not going to get anything biger then a 16G so the 190 will be enough and injectors i am thinking about going with RC500's but i am not sure if a 16G can max them out. I have till the end of this month to decide what to go with thats when i will order all my stuff.

I ran 15 psi on a stock fuel system with open d/p... it ran pretty lean but the car did fine... but I wouldn't recommend that to anyone else... right now I've got a 255 and 3 inch 02 elim open and I can run about 17-18 psi with little to no knock.
