so heres the deal i need to repair my exhaust to pass emissions, and rather than repairing the flex section which would cost around $100, I decided to just grab the whole exhaust (cat-back) and perhaps a downpipe.

the kicker is every article I've seen regarding ebay exhaust systems doesn't coincide with the offerings on ebay. Also the ebay exhaust I found fits both the FWD and AWD cars, and I'm quite sure there are differences between the two or no?

here is the exhaust in question

A 2g GSX exhaust is completely different than the GS-T exhaust, you can't mix and match them, one of them won't fit your car depending on which it is. If you've got an exhaust leak at the flex section, like bNasty said, then you need to replace the downpipe because thats where its located. Just replacing the exhaust from the catalytic converter back will do nothing, you'll still have a leaky flex section.

Why would you consider upgrading your exhaust system now when you're trying to pass emissions, that doesn't make much sense?

If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't respond. Its just going to open the thread to a bunch of arguing which is going to get it closed, you want help or do you want to start an argument?

yeah thats what I thought so why would they list it as being compatible other than the fact the review I read says the hanger is mounted backwards..

I guess i just need answers from those that have used one of these systems

Read this thread, every post of it, and you might think twice about buying off of eBay. Same scenario, he bought an AWD exhaust and its for a GS-T and the piping won't work. GSX muffler pipe supposed to be bent?
I can show you the difference between the two exhausts (GS-T / GSX) because my car has been both, its not just a matter of flipping a hanger either if thats what they told you.

Heres the exhaust on a GS-T.

I should take pictures of mine. Neither one of you likely have anything on mine.
