I have a 97 cas that i wan to put on a 95 head. Ive searched and searched and the only thing i come up with is for the 1g cas with the 4 prongs as the 97-99 has only 3 prongs. How would i go about wiring these up.

Why swapping heads? 2g heads are all the same.

OP, the 1G CAS has 4 pins because it provides both cam and crank signals. So you have +12V, ground, cam signal and crank signal. Your 95 has its own crank position sensor and the plug for it is at the side of the intake manifold close to the timing belt.

The 95 cars have different CAS sensors than the 97-99 cars. The 95 sensor sits behind the intake cam sprocket and the 97+ sensor, that you have, is bolted where the 1g CAS is bolted. The difference is that the 95 sensor provides reverse polarity signals and the 95 ECU is set for that polarity.

When you swap a 1g CAS into a 95 car you need to reverse the injector firing order at the ECU and the spark plug wires at the cylinders, or the coil pack, because of that reversed polarity signals.

When you swap 1G CAS into a 97+ car you dont need to do any of above, because the sensors sit on the same side of the head providing the same polarity signals.

When you swap a 97+ CAS into a 95 car, it all depends on what you have been running so far. If you had 1G CAS then you dont need to change much. Just find the original crank sensor plug and use it and then you'll need a plug for that 97 CAS which will have 3 wires. Most likely red, black and some other color and you'll need to wire in the stock CAS plug

When you swap a 97+ CAS into a 95 car that still has the original stock setup for the crank and cam sensor then you'll still need to wire in the 97 plug with the stock cam sensor plug. then reverse the firing order of the injectors and the spark plug wires at the cylinders or the coil pack

You guys are beating around the bush too much he's asking a simple question...

Basically to the OP the BEST thing to do would be to buy a 6 bolt swap harness from JNZ....
6 Bolt Swap CAS Harness (2G DSM) : JNZ Tuning
and get a 1g CAS....Please DO NOT try to wire in a 97+ CAS on your car...your only going to hack the wiring up....

You're going to hack the wiring up because you now need to find a 97+ cas plug and then wire it in etc..etc... You buy the jnz harness its all plug and play....

Remember cheap, fast, reliable....Pick 2 because you cant have all 3....

I choose Fast and Reliable...:D

If I recall correctly, the provisions for the CAS studs on the passenger's side are not present on 95-96 heads.

There are no provisions for ANY studs for the CAS on any 2g head....It's held on by 2 bolts/ no studs

Thanks guys for the help. I think i have the question a lil off too. The head is a 97+ but my car is a 95. I dont have the extra cash for the 1g cas and the jnz 1g cas adapter harness(paying for school with my next few checks):D..But thanks to steven miller import, hes got a 95-96 cas for me that i'll be picking up from him next week. I was about to actually sit and figure out how to wire that 97+ to that 95-96 harness. So its impossible---well too much. Thanks guys:thumb:

I drilled a hole in my 95 head, and just bought a 97+ head with the 97+ cas. so i was trying to figure out how to wire it to the 95 harness. But thanks anyway and sorry for the confusion. And you explanation on how to do it is perfect but wouldnt it cause a misfire IF i wired it in the way u said or no??
