I have two simple questions.

Ok first off this is my first time posting here and I have just about saved up enough to buy a 1990 Eagle TSI Talon (only 85,000miles) from a local dip for $2,000 but any way I have a long parts list I will eventualy check off...but im unsure of two things...

A: What would be the best preforming and looking Intercooler for around $1,000? im trying not to go much over 1000 on the intercooler.
(will be useing a 16G turbo)


Ad my 2nd question is what is a afordable yet good manifold for this turbo? I have heard the stock unit has a bad leaking and cracking problem so that HAS to go...but since im gona be spending a good bit here i figure i mid as well get one that flows better two eh?


O so I have 3 qestions would a blow off valve be needed for a 16G turbo?


I hope to hit right at 400HP I plan on spending almost 15K on upgreads to the engine and other...(body, suspention, interior etc.) Well anyway thanks in advance.

1. man I'd like to have your money

2. There are intercoolers out there that would be sufficient for whatever you want for under a grand. Check out the vendors list.

3. The 2g manifold is what just about every 1g dsm'er upgrades to.

4. I wouldn't say it's absolutely necessary, but more often that not, the bov is one of the first upgrades after your first few performance upgrades.

Follow the Tuning Guide if you're not sure. It's a good map to follow.

There are ways to "modify" the stock 1G bov so that it will hold, so i've heard, 20+ psi. ...for a 16g this should be plenty

go with the 2g exhaust mani...just make sure to get it ported even more for the 16g

intercoolers...what a fun subject...
I dont have an opinion but I've heard that top-bottom flow are better...you just have to worry about "heat-soak" ..also ive heard that the spearco cores are the best flowing...

and just for the record.. im 18 I have no bills to pay and im makeing $400 a week... so i dont have alot of money but then it's a good bit at the same time i guess :/

Umm one other question, what would probly be the most appropriate BOV for my application? Or just there bare minimum (other than stock) because if I do not have to spend $250 on a BOV and I could just spend $100 or so it would be a good thing you know.


I know I am going to use it on Drag and Street... but im also considering rally I just dont want to wreck that nice of a car
