Im running a big 16g ported with a 34mm flapper wastegate by slowboyracing. I was wondering if i should get a dump on my o2. wondering if this mod has helped improve any other cars with similar mods. Thanks

What is the cheapest 02 dump I can get for use with a stock downpipe? I've heard some, but is it generally the same sound no matter what exhaust you have? I just want my car to be loud:)

It will eliminate boost creep . Some people also like the way that they sound (loud open exhaust sound , when you reach full boost) .

It does not totally eliminate boost creep but it helps though. I had boost creep to 20psi with my hallman mbc set @ 15psi. It would pass 15psi with no problem. Now, after installing the dump tube, boost holds at 15psi till I put the petal all the way to the floor and it still creeps to 20psi until it hits fuel cut. So in my case, it slowed down the creep but did not eliminate it.

I think the kit from Bushur is just a tube which you can weld on your old o2 housing. It is not a new part or something ready to be bolted on. It needs welding for sure. Look around on trader or ebay and you should be able to get one for around $150 complete (mine costed me 112.00 shipped off ebay and I ported it myself)

It shouldn't. Really depends on where u live. I live in Harris county (texas) and emmisions are required. Also how they do their emmisions check. For 96 and up they just plug into the OBDII and log a little. 95 and older they set up on rollers here and spin the wheels a bit. As long as they dont spin them fast enough to build boost then u should be ok.

BTW I passed emmisions using the OBDII setup w/ a larger turbo setup, 3" downpipe, and no cat. Dont' know how, but I' not complaining :thumb:

I love my O2 dump. I had a spare O2 housing sitting in the garage and I got bored the other day, so I busted out the cut off tool and went to work. Three hours and $13 later I had an external dump. It was a lot of work to cut through that thich ass steel housing and trying to weld it up wasn't too hard, but IMO well worth the time and effort invested.

You got it. There was a local guy here who was bashing on me because mine was "rigged." I let him look at mine, and at the ones that most companies make, mine would flow better becuase I mated the mandrel-bent pipe right up to the flange. I removed the entire wastegate side from the housing to fit the pipe.

I ended up telling him that with the cost of my "rigged" one that I still had money left over to buy a lot of other stuff. In my mind, the people who have the initiative and resources to build their own parts earn more respect than the people who just buy stuff and slap it on.

Imagination is the key to the fine art of fabrication.

What do you do w/ the 02 sensor , once it has been elimated? just rip it out? Won't the car run like shit??

Hmmm....
Thanks,

Wont it get horrible gas mileage? Not really an issue to me, but doesn't:

-CEL come on?
-get crappy mpg
-produce air/fuel problems?

Thanks

you should leave the 02 sensor in. If you are making one, just weld in a bung. I hated my 02 dump. Car sounds louder but sounds like absolute shit. I am now running a tial on the o2 housing, recirculated back in.

those machv ones are nice, but you can find the same things made by a different company for $150, i think 122performance, joe p, punishment racing all have them

Thanks,

02 eliminator is deceiving(sp). it doesnt actually eliminate the 02 sensor, just the 02 housing. it will make the downpipe connect directly to the hot side of the turbo instead of flowing through an 02 housing first.

The link below is where I purchase my 2.5 inch tubular o2 dump. Very nice piece. Sounds extremely wicked. It does some getting used to though. Driving next to another 1G DSM w/dump the other night doing some tuning pulls. Two cars pushing 18+psi of boost dumping next to each other--a site to see and hear:)
