can anyone give me an estimate of how much psi of boost/HP the '95-'99 turbo dsm's are capable of reliably handling? thanks.

either a 16G or 20G...how reliably capable is the stock engine in terms of psi and hp?

for a street car...


i am not asking what the mods will bring my hp to, i am asking how much the stock engine can hold in terms of psi and hp...just an estimate is all i am looking for..thanks,.

The stock 2G 7-bolt engine can handle about 20-23 PSI without bending the rods and with proper fuel management. Don't forget about CW though, It can happen to anyone anytime.

7 bolts can handle more than that. Its all in the tuning and setup. A stock 7 bolt could easily live at 30psi, then again, PSI doesn't mean crap.

About 500hp from a 7 bolt, 550hp for a 6 bolt is the breaking limit.

you wont be able to hold 30 psi on a 16g. it will drop off like boost does on the T25 only not as far down.
