First off:
the VFAQ link does not work anymore...
I have searched here and couldnt find anything...

SOO...could someone tell me what all I need to do to elimate the 2nd o2?

Don't laugh Invictus boyz...the CEL got on my nerves before I even got home. :p

Well, i don't know about eliminating it totally, but if you put tin foil around it and reinsert it, that should solve your CEL problems, i have known many a DSMer to do this trick......I used to have that problem too and my CEL actually hasn't come on in quite some time now.....and i didn't even have to do anything :thumb:

just reinsert in back into the exhaust stream. you could put it under your seat, but there is the risk of starting a car fire, because the o2 has a heater wire which, naturally, heats the o2 up to get proper readings, and if you put that under you seat, well, automatic seat warmer :D

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so you don't have a hole:laugh: i gotcha...what exhaust did you get??? I have also heard of just putting foil on it and then keeping it tucked somewhere underneath the car, just make sure it's safe and won't cause a fire...Since you don't have a hole:laugh: then i beleive you can do that....try it out, you have nothing to lose, whats going to happen, another CEL???? LOL go for it man.......

How exactly do you get the tin foil to stay on the o2 sensor? Wouldn't the exhaust heat burn it up? I know when I take a lighter to tin foil it melts.

Here's the deal...After looking at the O2 sensor bypass vfaq, I have a question for someone....Does the heater element of the circuit actually need to be connected with the resistor as it says? Reason I'm asking is because you aren't heating anything up just trying to keep the sensor seeing something and changing accordingly.

Would I be okay to just leave the heater element wires unconnected or will I get a CEL light?

Any help would be great....I mean, its really not hard to hook a 12 watt resistor up but just wondering...

you will get the cel if you don't hook up the heater element, I think the code is "p0141 sensor heater circuit failure" or something like that. I actually just finished doing this to my car today. be careful, that heater resistor will get hot, I enclosed mine under my car not in my car. I probably didn't need to but I feel a little safer with a heating element outside, not in.

hope that helps

Make sure to use a really high watt resistor. Fire+Car=$$$

The vfaq says 12watt. Well that assumes 1 amp at 12volts. 12 Watt is maxed out and resistors do their job turning electrical energy into heat so maxed out is real hot. I'd get a 50 Watt nice aluminum finned one and mount it on the firewall where it will get air cooled. Like these here.
