You can safely run 16-17psi if you have a good working fuel system and premium fuel. With a fuel pump you can get up to 18-19psi, but at that point you are limited by pump gas.

14b (I am assuming that you have a 5sp car) is a pretty good turbo, which many people overlook and get rid of it. I have gone [email protected] on one with 120k miles just to prove a point of how well it can do if given a chance. But I had just about EVERY other mod (minus NOS).

However, if you are into SCCA, something as simple as a MBC will knock you out of Sock or Stree Prepared classes and you will have to race in D-Mod or Streed Mod classes. So that is something to keep in mind.
 
I installed a manual boost gauge but didn't have too much luck with it. I ended up removing the mbc cause the engine kept cutting out once it hit full boost. It's kind of hard to tune without a manual boost gauge. All I was looking for was 15-16 lbs off the stock for the time being so thats great. Thanks for the info.

whats the fastest anybody's eevr gone on a 14b?? i was under the assumption that like 12.40's or 12.60's was the fastest ANYBODY has ever gone with a 14b.

damn son, that's on the 14b? hm.... that's a good ass time, but damn if only the turbo was big enough to pull in some nicer trap speeds.

This has been a 14b record for a couple of years, but someone might have surpassed it by now. I did it on just one night out with the turbo, with almost no tuning and base timing set at 3 deg (by mistake). So with some morel tuning and better launching (this was 1.70 launch), I see no reason why 14b could not be taken well into 11’s (like 11.8 or so).

Nicer trap speeds? That is faster than most people get out of 16G turbos. And was also a 14b record.
 
well i'm just saying, on the other cars that run 12.0 the, traps are usually nicer..that's all, its ok, its still a nice time.

Man, you got completely wrong way of looking at this! People who run 12.0 at 116-120 with AWD cars are not driving them to full potential. They actually have 11.5-11.6 sec cars. So it is not that they have "nicer" trap speeds, they run "crappier" ETs...

I know that since I got the big turbo and turned in a few of such bad runs, I am not very proud of it...

MPH dictates HP. ET's are an indication of hookup. All ET's tell you is wether or not you can bang a gear. Your MPH will tell you if you have a monster or a dud on your hands.
 
Nice job with that 14b et/mph!! I always new that it was a good little turbo. I had planned on keeping mine for a couple of years now, and maybe I will even keep it longer. Low 12's ?? Good enough for me.
 
Ok, I just bought a 95 "stock" GSX, AWD. I plan on putting a DownPipe, Cat-back exhaust, Intake, and Blow-Off valve. With those mods alone, how fast should I expect in the 1/4 mile??? Also...the Hall*something* boost controller, whats the full name of it...where can I find a website with prices......and Those mods with that boost controller....how fast could I push that stock motor/fuel, in the 1/4 mile????
